L-ead – Leveraging e-health workforce by advanced skills
This Summer School uses innovative mixed-education methods to help participants understand how to develop a workforce that is better able to leverage the possibilities of healthcare systems in the digital age. The course will investigate the skills required to adapt advanced technologies in cross-border healthcare and health workforce development. It will help to build an appreciation of the complex environment and benefits of digital ecosystems. Participants will internalise essential e-skills via interactive group work, case studies and a digital health challenge.
About this activity
The L-ead Summer School aims to generate awareness and sharing of knowledge about changes that digitalisation is bringing to healthcare systems. With the help of change-management and evidence-based policy making approaches, participants will understand the functioning of health systems and the context and rationale of workforce development. They will identify major challenges and innovative solutions, and the impact of digital transformation on healthcare and its workforce. The course also aims to facilitate an attitude change of healthcare professionals, starting with students, while developing cultural sensitivity towards digital health capability. The Summer School presents case studies and applies teamwork to find and validate new skills that are needed in the health sector, and to determine good ways to upskill the workforce so that it matches the state of maturity of digitisation. Students obtain knowledge about specific topics relating to e-health workforce development, including: labour market dynamics, strengthening health systems, developing a sustainable health workforce, technology-driven initiatives and opportunities, digital healthcare ecosystems, telemedicine, and e-health solutions to support sustainable and effective care.
